WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is a quick way to achieve a relaxed and focused state of consciousness, similar to that experienced during meditation. This focus, or altered state of awareness, and deep relaxation is not only good for the mind but there are several ways it can be used to help improve your quality of life. Most people find it hard to make changes to their attitudes, beliefs and values because they try to change the conscious mind but for change to happen it needs to be with the conscious and unconscious mind. The power of suggestions that we use when doing hypnotherapy empowers the changes within. It is often said that hypnosis is a suggestion, but there is actually quite an enormous difference between them. Hypnosis is a state of mind and suggestion is the formation of an idea. The two work wonderfully well together because hypnosis increases most people’s suggestibility, which then makes them susceptible to suggestion – much more so than they would be in ‘normal’ levels of consciousness.
